Jesus Christ is coming again!
This is the message of Advent, the Christian season of waiting.
We are waiting with joy for Jesus to return.
The same Jesus whose birth we celebrate on December 25 will return to this Earth one day, soon.
What does this Advent message mean for you and me today?
Well, in a world of so much uncertainty, it reminds us that God keeps His promises!
From the foundation of the world, God blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, so that we may enjoy God’s love as brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ.
Thousands of years before God’s promise was manifested, Isaiah prophesied a praise. He said:
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
In 4 BC, this Child was born, and they named Him Jesus.
And through Jesus’ teachings and His miracles, through His suffering, His death and His resurrection, He was revealed to be the Son of God. Jesus is the Word of God made flesh, the Love of God in human form.
Today, this Jesus sits at the right hand of God the Father, waiting for the time to return to this Earth. The Son of God said He will come back. And He will.
For God does not lie. He will do as He has promised.
Before the Son of God ascended to God the Father, He promised that He and the Father would send the Holy Spirit to Earth so that all who believe in Jesus Christ would be able to enjoy fellowship with Jesus and the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit.
On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came to earth to dwell in all who believe in Jesus Christ. For God does not lie. He will do as He has promised.
So I ask you this Advent season, what is it that you are waiting on God for?
What promise has God made to you about your future, your children, your marriage, your career, your finances, your health, your country?
Has the pandemic caused you to doubt that God would do as He has promised?
Are you growing tired of waiting for the manifestation of His word to you?
Let me tell you this: Do not doubt the Triune God. You just wait on the Lord God and be of good courage.
Because God is faithful! He will do as He has promised.
All His promises to you are “yes” and “Amen” in Jesus Christ! The Christ of Christmas!
So wait on the Lord God! And be of good courage, because God loves you, and His love for you has no end.
Wait on the Lord God, because He is good and His mercies toward you never end!
Wait on the Lord God this Advent season, wait in hope! For hope in God does not disappoint.
Give the Lord God thanks and praises this Christmas for His incredibly great love toward you. Because the story of Christmas is the story of God’s love coming to you in Jesus Christ.
God loves YOU! Wait on Him.
Happy Advent. And Merry Christmas!
