If ever there were a need to pray it is now. If ever we need to seek God’s face is now. If we never needed to trust God completely we need to now. The nations of the world are in trouble and we need to pray to God for the nations of this world.

Early in my Pastoral Ministry I received a revelation on the value and importance of prayers in the life of a Christian. If an individual Christian has a committed prayer life then the church in general will become empowered by prayer.

The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 7vs 14 If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. When God wants to touch a family, a church, a city or a nation he begins by moving his people to pray.

The power of united prayer will bring deliverance, break every chain, set the captive free, change people and change things. When Christians come together to seek God’s face and to petition him miracles take place. Every great move of God in scripture was preceded by people who were united in prayer.

According to Acts 12 Peter was in prison and prayer was made without ceasing by the early church unto God for him. They were having an around the clock prayer meeting for the one they loved. The people of God were united in prayer. Peter walked out of the prison and showed up at the front door of the house where they were having the prayer meeting. That was an answer to prayer.

James 5: 17-18 Elias was a man subject to like passion as we are and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain and it rained not, on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. God hears and answers the prayers of the righteous.

The great prayer warrior E. M. Bound said “Salvation never finds it way to a prayer less heart. The Holy Spirit never abides in a prayer less life.” Now is the Time to Pray. Luke 18:1 says “Men ought always to pray and not to faint.” We are admonished to Pray without ceasing. It is time to pray believing and expecting God to work on our behalf. Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, that whatsoever things ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them.”

There is an urgent need for us, as the Body of Christ, to Unite in Prayer for Spiritual Awakening.

It is not enough to know that we should pray. But we need to know what the Bible Promises Concerning Prayer

  • Forgiveness of Sins (John 1:9)
  • Supply of Wisdom (James 1:5)
  • Divine Healing (James 5:15)
  • The provision for our needs (Philippians 4:19)

God answers every true prayer in one of three ways. He may answer Yes and that is wonderful. He may answer No because He knows what is best for you. Or He may say Wait, now is not the time, you are not ready for this. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint Isaiah 40:31 Will you pray more that God will use you as a vessel to live for Him and win others for Him. Prayer is the greatest force in any Christian life and Christians need to pray without ceasing.

During this 21days of Prayer and Fasting let us pray for a Revival and a Fresh Outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit tearing down those strongholds in the name of Jesus over our individual lives, family, church and nation.
