Bishop Shelton Beneby
and Minister Shelly Beneby

Bishop Shelton Beneby, is the senior Pastor of TNCC and serves along side his wife Shelly Ricketts Beneby. They have 3 young adult children and is passionate about seeing people growing in their spiritual faith and walking out their divine purpose and destiny to serve in God’s Kingdom.

Bishop Beneby a native of Nassau Bahamas, began his spiritual journey at the age of 14 when he committed his heart to the Lord Jesus and recognized that he was called by God to work with young people. He sought to answer this call in 1974 as a Public School Teacher, later served as Director of Youth Affairs for the Bahamas Government, and completed his public service career as a Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism.

He commenced his pastoral ministry as a community mission pastor in 1994 when he decided to take the church to the community and established a non-profit training institute called Project TIME to reach at-risk young men and women in low-income urban communities. He has mentored hundreds of young people, many of whom are now contributing members and leaders in their communities. Project TIME International is now operational in two countries, with Bishop Beneby as its founder-president for the past 22 years.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Community Education from the University of Minnesota at Mankato and a Master of Arts degree in Religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts.

In 2015 Bishop Beneby founded and hosted the first biennial International Leadership Conference (ILC 2015). This meeting brought together more than 500 church leaders, policy makers, community leaders, and parents from Canada, the United States, Jamaica, and The Bahamas to discuss the strategies that would enable them to shape the future now, according to the will of God.

Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve;

1 Peter 5:2
