We Belong To God
Underlying the stewardship of life is the fundamental truth set forth by Paul. “Ye are not your own: for ye are brought with a price” (2 Cor 6:19-20) We belong to God because He created Us. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Genesis 1:27) “ And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breadth of life; and man became a living soul”(Genesis 2:7)
We belong to God because he saved us.” For by grace are we saved through faith; and that not of ourselves it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).” For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23) God has saved us, given us eternal life. We belong to him.
We belong to God because of His providential care for us. Every resource we have is the gift of God. Paul said to Timothy” For we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” (1 Tim 6:7). The psalmist said The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof: the world and they that dwell therein (Psalm 24:1) Every good and perfect gift comes from his bountiful hands. God provides for us. He cares for us, loves us and most of all He wants us to be apart of His Family.
Let us be good stewards of all life, for God gave it to us. He sustains life. He supplies our needs. Therefore, let us honour him with all that we are and with all that we have.
